Once you add tickets to your basket, they're reserved for you for 10 minutes. This countdown starts the moment you add them, not when you reach checkout, so it covers your whole basket and checkout process together.
If you're still on the payment screen when time is running low, don't worry, a short extra buffer is added automatically right before payment is confirmed, so you're not cut off mid-payment.
If your reservation does expire before you've finished, nothing will have been charged to your card. Just go back to the event page and add your tickets again.
